Where the Alps meet the biggest lake in Germany, where the three German speaking countries Austria, Switzerland and Germany come together! Here, our students experience unforgettable language learning holidays with friends from all over the world. This is the ideal combination of intensive and pleasurable learning and the experience of exciting and varied leisure activities. In the mornings, our students from all over the world study in small, communicative learning groups of a maximum of 11 students. They are taught by our young teaching team, who are all native speakers.

What is the Campus Bodensee?

Situated on the island of Lindau on Lake Constance, our Campus Bodensee offers the ideal conditions for learning with fun, great leisure activities and unforgettable holidays with friends from all over the world.
Our Campus consists of professionally equipped modern learning tents, class, art and music rooms with a view of Lake Constance.
Lunch is also held on the Campus, as well as evening events and other activities.

Your German course

After a grading test, the young people are divided into their attainment levels and taught in small classes with a maximum of 11 students. We offer at least five different levels during the morning course (20 teaching units per week at 45 minutes each). The afternoon course (10 teaching units per week at 45 minutes each) is divided into Deutsch aktiv and Deutsch kreativ. Both afternoon programmes are a combination of theory and practice and are based on experiential pedagogic concepts and haptic learning. Consequently, Deutsch aktiv has a theoretical and a practical reference to sports and movement activities (team, trend and watersports). Deutsch kreativ will have its emphasis on learning activities through creative crafts and workshops, film & photography and arts. Both afternoon options are always accompanied by our pedagogic team.

At the time of registration, participants decide between Deutsch aktiv or Deutsch kreativ for their first week. The afternoon programme for the following weeks of the stay will be decided once the participant is on site and according to her or his preferences.

Our courses aim above all to improve the students‘ practical language skills. For this reason, theoretical instruction in German grammar is limited to an essential minimum. The interesting and varied language sessions are devised by young, motivated, language trainer who are all native speakers.

Accommodation
 
Accommodation in a youth hostel
The international youth hostel has modern four-bed rooms, in which we accommodate students of different nationalities. The youth hostel also has many leisure activities available, such as beach volleyball, game rooms and an in-house young people‘s disco for the evenings.
The Lindau city bus takes care of the transfer to the Campus Bodensee 2 km away – the bus ride takes about 10 minutes.

Catering: A substantial breakfast buffet and a varied evening meal are served in the in-house refectory. All students eat lunch at the Campus Bodensee. We offer an alternative vegetarian menu for all meals.
Support: Our trained employees are on site round the clock to support the students (24-hour service).

Accommodation in a host family
Our school arranges pleasant accommodation with friendly, outgoing Lindau families, whom we all know personally and have carefully selected. Our course participants stay with students of the same age who speak a different native language. Staying with a host family provides the opportunity for practical application of the German learned and in addition of getting a glimpse of life in the host country. All the families live in the Lindau area and are a maximum of 20 – 30 minutes travel time from the Campus Bodensee.

Catering: A substantial breakfast and a varied evening meal are eaten with the host family. All students eat lunch at the Lake Constance Campus. Special diets on request (vegetarian, gluten or lactose-free).
Support: Together with the host families, our team ensures good support during the whole stay.

Leisure & Activity Programme

Lindau and the Lake of Constance region are one of the nicest holiday regions in Europe. Both, rich nature and culture are the ingredients for our creative leisure programme. The campus, the lake, the island city of Lindau and the exciting destinations for our excursions in this region where three countries meet guarantee the ideal combination for unforgettable language holidays. Our support staff will devise an extensive and varied programme: sporty, leisurely, creative, interesting and will also be both guide as well as contact partner for any questions. Every week we organise one half-day excursion, one whole day excursions and activities at the weekends, daily leisure programme.
